J. Allen Matchmaking is a discreet matchmaking firm for accomplished singles who have come to expect the best. We work one on one with each client to develop a deep understanding of his or her lifestyle, personality, and preferences. From our headquarters in Boston, we then scour the globe to find attractive, intelligent, accomplished candidates as the perfect partner in a long-term relationship.

We are all familiar with executive search firms. J. Allen Matchmaking simply transfers the proven techniques used to fill executive positions to the search for a soulmate. Just as an executive search efficiently narrows down job candidates to only those who are best qualified, we eliminate the trial and error of dating to present only those candidates that are best suited to a long-term relationship with you.
Here's how it works:
• The first step is an introductory meeting with potential clients. We'll find out more about you and your requirements and make sure that we are the best firm to meet your needs. We do not accept all clients and will decline individuals who are unrealistic or inappropriate in their requirements for prospective partners. A nonrefundable $350 fee is charged for this initial meeting. This fee is applied towards the cost of service once a contract is agreed upon.
• If you and J. Allen decide to work together, we will present a contract that outlines the terms of our agreement. You will need to sign the contract and pay 50% of the total fee before we start work on your behalf.
• We begin by conducting a background check. We reserve the right to terminate the contract and return the 50% fee, minus the cost of the background check, if questionable information is obtained. All clients (as well as potential dates) sign a nondisclosure agreement to maintain the confidentiality of these searches.
• We then go to work to find suitable matches for you. Since we locate individuals based upon your specific requirements and do not work from a standardized database, it can take up to three months for suitable matches to be introduced.
• We will meet with you or communicate regularly by e-mail to present photos of individuals who we feel are potential matches. We will provide details about the persons background and interests and our impressions based upon our in-depth personal meetings with all prospective dates.
• If you are interested in meeting a prospect, we will conduct a background check on him or her and an introduction is made.
• The number of introductions you will receive and the time period in which you receive them depends upon your specific contract with J. Allen Matchmaking.

A network of affiliated companies works in tandem with the J. Allen team to provide services on an as needed basis. Every J. Allen client may take advantage of a complimentary wardrobe evaluation from Post Road Clothier, one of the Boston area's leading haberdashers. Additional affiliated companies include image consultants, hair stylists, travel agencies and other service businesses.
JANINE Bush, founder and president
Janine Bush's talent as a matchmaker has been recognized and sought after by some of the best-known firms in the business. Instead of joining with a large, national company, Janine founded J. Allen Matchmaking to offer highly personalized matchmaking services to a select group of clients.
Janine applies skills gained through many years as an international executive recruiter, as well as her innate intuitive strengths, to locate individuals who are the perfect match for one another. She works closely with every J. Allen client and handpicks each personal introduction.

How much does it cost to hire J. Allen Matchmaking?
Fees vary depending upon how many introductions you would like and the criteria that you set for the search. If you are only interested in people who are accomplished mountain climbers, for example, the search will be more complex than if you want somebody who enjoys dancing and spending time at the beach. As with our individuals, each search is different; please contact us for further information.
Who is your typical client?
Our clients are accomplished, well-off individuals who are too busy with their active lives to take a trial-and-error approach to dating. Our clients know what they want in a potential partner and are seeking a shortcut to finding this special person. While most of our clients are men, we work with both men and women. Our average clients span a broad age range from 30 to over 65.
Are J. Allen's fees based on how long you work with me or how many introductions I receive?
You pay for the number of introductions received. Contracts cover introductions made over either one- or two-year periods. The length and cost of a contract reflects the nature of a client's criteria and the difficulty of the search that is required to meet his or her expectations.
Do I get my money back if I dont like any of the people you introduce to me?
Matters of the heart can be quite unpredictable. We can only guarantee introductions to quality individuals who match your criteria. If you need to adjust your criteria after your first introduction, we are happy to work with you to make sure that you are meeting individuals who match your specifications.
Do I pay a bonus if I end up marrying an introduction?
Only if a marriage bonus was negotiated as part of your contract!
How long is a typical contract?
Contracts range from 12-24 months.
How do you find your candidates for introductions?
Our job is a bit like detective work. You give us the characteristics of the person you are seeking, and we locate that person. We network, research online, attend events, join organizations, and often approach people on airplanes and in restaurants, shops, and public spaces if we think the person might be a candidate. We search in the Boston area, nationally, and even internationally.
How can I be included in your searches to find eligible matches for clients?
Please contact our office to set up a personal interview. We conduct a one-hour meeting to learn as much about you as possible for future introductions. A $350 fee covers the cost of the interview and background checks. Please be aware that we are very selective and do not accept all candidates for consideration. Actual introductions will depend upon the criteria established by our clients.
